Outperforming city-backed tourism brands with organic reach

Lumos Marketing scaled Phoenix Finds into one of Arizona's most engaging community discovery platforms, growing the account past 67K followers while generating 5.58M views and reaching 1.81M unique accounts in a single 30-day window alone — a pace that now rivals what the platform previously took a full quarter to produce. June was a standout month on its own, delivering 4.6M views (+42% MoM) and 7,810 new followers, with 69% of impressions coming from non-followers. All of it organic, at a publishing cadence of 80 posts and 55 stories in June alone.

The challenge

Phoenix Finds needed to build authority in a crowded tourism market dominated by well-funded, institutionally backed accounts. Awareness was low and there was no repeatable content engine driving discovery — or a way to turn that audience into real interest for hospitality partners.

Our approach

We built a hyper-local, curiosity-driven content system and raised the publishing bar well past the original 10-posts-per-week growth target — 80 posts and 55 stories in June alone — engineering each piece for shareability and non-follower reach, while using the platform as a cross-promotional engine for Lumos hospitality clients.

The outcome

Six months after the original case study, Phoenix Finds has compounded past 67K followers. A single 30-day window generated 5.58M views and reached 1.81M unique accounts — volume that previously took a full quarter. The account continues to outperform City of Phoenix and Visit Phoenix channels with zero paid spend, and client cross-promotion now converts directly into growth (a Southwest Inn Sedona giveaway drove 198 new followers in a month).
